Our History

Beginnings

Professional career began in Retail Automotive where he became known for developing strategies for internal operations and marketing. In order to become more effective as a consultant to business, he opened his own dealerships in his hometown, eventually finding himself with a New Car Franchise. By owning dealerships, he was free from conflict to assist and focus the industry throughout the area. While the local Dealers saw themselves in competition, they missed their true competitors; Dealerships located just an hour south near Los Angeles.

This is where a large portion of local residents were doing business. The local Dealers were not helping themselves in efforts to discourage this trend. They ended up tainting the entire industry and pushed more customers to purchase out of the area.

Working in such a climate to rebuild reputations and alter profit centers within dealerships wasn’t easy. To gain the confidence of his clients, he sold his Automotive Interests in 1991, and opened a local Cell Phone and Paging Operation, eventually becoming the largest local ISP in the area. While building his communications he continued to work with the Automotive Industry assisting them in becoming the dominant force in the local area and a destination for consumers from far larger markets.

It was during this time he heard rumors of this new communications platform called the Internet. In 1995, his hobby company became his greatest passion.

Our Heritage

1997 was a fascinating year. It was the year the term Broadband became known for those of us who had been involved in this thing called the internet. Our local ISP (Internet Service Provider) had launched bragging about connecting users at thousands of kilobytes per second. We had just become the fastest provider in the area by upgrading to 56K, which was 56,000 kilobytes per second, and it was amazing that a small digital image (3.5MB) could be viewed after waiting only 10 minutes. Broadband was promising 145 MB per second speeds, and it was expected to hit our little metropolis, located about 60 miles north of Los Angeles, in just 2 years.

Within a decade of selling our Retail Automotive Interests (1991), our little paging and mobile phone store would become the largest retailer of NexTel Mobile and Digital Data to both retail and business to business. We literally started the first ISP and closed it within that time period. The idea of using mobile devices to send and receive emails, from nearly anywhere was mind-blowing and consuming. To think that business could operate from nearly everywhere, started our next journey and that journey continues today.
